Neiwan

We decided to go up to the Mountains to celebrate our five year anniversary before the baby arrived.
(Oct. 2012) We took a bus to the next town, because the connecting train line was being repaired.

"Before the Channel, Please do not stop"  It was clearly very crowded that Tuesday afternoon - So J sat.

I thought to colors were beautiful with the grey, blue chairs and sky, and orange/rust accents.
Again, you can see that it is very crowded.

The conductor comes out.

The train arrives.

Bustling Crowds.

 Nine months pregnant.

We walked along the market.  And saw what there was to see.
How many of those vegetables do you recognize from the pickle (?) shop?

I still don't know what fruit this is.  If any one knows write a comment.
It is a citrus, looks like an octopus, and is good for sore throats.

J. on the famous (I say notorious) Neiwan suspended bridge.

It started to get dark, and the market street started closing down.  We found two restaurants still open for supper, and decided not to wait any longer.   For Supper we ate cold chicken (upper left) bamboo shoots (if I am remembering correctly) (upper right) guava slices (right) and rice with sauce (bottom).

The restaurant was in an old theater.  It really reminded me of the Goehner Melodramas.  http://www.chezbubbacafe.com/

It was a good thing we stopped early for supper.
We walked out of the restaurant and into a ghost town.
It was seven pm.  The town had rolled up its sidewalks and gone to bed - or roost, as the case may be.
(this sure made me miss my years growing up on the farm)

It was really nice getting out of the hustle and bustle of town.
Happy Anniversary J!
